    Description

WOW! Here is a really scarce one.
This is the highly sought-after book
Principal Gold-Producing Districts of the United States.
This is USGS Professional Paper 610, published in 1968.  These are quite scarce. It is 283 pages and is
    hard cover.
These were issued in hard and soft covers, but the hard covers have always been scarcer, more desirable, and a bit of a collector's item.
The book is an exhaustive work listing virtually every place in the US where gold has been mined or panned. It covers more than 500 districts, each known to have produced more than 10,000 ounces of gold. It is organized on a state by state basis and then by county and district. It discusses everything from placers to lode deposits. In fact, many of the districts are chiefly placer deposits, meaning they still yield those precious nuggets to this day!
This is an essential book for the recreational panner or prospector, or anybody else interested in the history of gold mining in the United States  It is out of print and unavailable from other sources (people that have copies like to hold on to them!) It is a great reference on the country’s gold resources and the history of their mining. It includes production statistics on almost all the areas discussed. The states covered in the text are:
    Alabama
    Alaska
    Arizona
    California
    Colorado
    Georgia
    Idaho
    Michigan
    Montana
    Nevada
    New Mexico
    North Carolina
    Oregon
    Pennsylvania
    South Carolina
    Tennessee
    Utah
    Virginia
    Washington
    Wyoming
This would make a great gift for the prospector, mineral collector, panner or dredger you know.
Don't miss out on it. It's a good one. You won't see another hard cover of this come around any time soon.
