    Description

    SCARCE ITEM!! BIG MAPS!!
    This is USGS Bulletin 1021-L,
Geology of the Area East and Southeast of Livingston, Park County, Montana
. Published in 1957, this uncommon item consists of the 54-page book and all four of the original maps, two of which are large color maps. The large maps are over four feet tall and consist of a wider one covering the eastern part of the area, and a narrower one covering the western part. There are two stratigraphic columns showing the characteristics of the formations. The western map covers the area along Paradise Valley, and the eastern one covers parts along and south of the Yellowstone river to the Beartooth front. The text describes the geology in good detail and includes a section on the economic geology of the area. Maybe there are some nice minerals to find within the area.
This is a great item on a popular and beautiful area, and the maps are simply gorgeous. They would look great framed and displayed in a home or business in the area.
