    Description

    Great shape never folded
During World War II, the Japanese empire expanded throughout Southeast Asia. To solidify their rule, they issued Japanese currency to citizens, like this 1943 note from the Philippines. Once the Allies forced the Japanese out, the Japanese War Notes Claimants Association of the Philippines (JAPWANCAP) was created to try and force local and U.S. governments to reimburse citizens for the notes, which were given an official JAPWANCAP stamp. An incredible piece of World War II history!
