This listing is for a
single,
new NCR 4589 replacement cash drawer key. The first photo shows the two available key code variations.
You must select your "Key Code" (SUPR or OPER) in the options field above. You will receive exactly 1 key of the key code you select.
Again, each quantity ordered is for 1 key of the code you select. However, you may use the "Add to Cart" button to add 1 or more of any key code to the cart and volume discounts and combined shipping will be applied at checkout.
Any lock or cash register drawer / box / till referenced in the text or photos are not included.
What Does This Fit?
The OPER and SUPR 4589 keys work with NCR cash drawers with a 4589 stamped on the lock. A photo of the lock is included in the listing photos as an example. No lock or drawer is included.
The two different keys have different functions, as described here:
4589 SUPR
is a supervisor key and will lock, unlock, or manually open the cash drawer. This key is roughly 2" long and is sold under the SKU# 2171-K006 (2171-K006-V001) or 2181-K001 and NCR Part # 497-0528403 or 497-0460796.
4589 OPER
is an operator key and will rotate the lock between locked and unlocked. However, the OPER key
will not
manually open the drawer. It simply prevents someone else without a key from electronically kicking the drawer open. This key is roughly 2" long and is sold under the SKU# 2181-K002 or 2171-K007 and NCR Part # 497-0460797
